Our client, a globally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to impactful social change, is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Program Manager, Global Development to lead critical initiatives in Surrey, British Columbia, CA . This role is pivotal in driving the strategy, implementation, and monitoring of our development programs across various regions. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of managing complex international projects, fostering strong partnerships with local communities and stakeholders, and ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve measurable outcomes. Responsibilities: Oversee the full lifecycle of global development programs, from conceptualization and design to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Develop and refine program strategies in alignment with the organization's mission and goals. Manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource allocation. Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, international organizations, local partners, and community leaders. Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies to identify opportunities for new programs or interventions. Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program progress and impact. Prepare comprehensive program reports, including financial summaries, progress updates, and impact assessments, for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with donor requirements, grant agreements, and relevant regulations. Provide technical expertise and guidance to field teams and local partners. Identify and mitigate program risks, developing contingency plans as needed. Represent the organization at relevant conferences, workshops, and forums. Contribute to fundraising efforts by developing compelling program proposals and concept notes. Mentor and supervise program staff and consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Champion best practices in program management and international development. Qualifications: Master's degree in International Development, Public Policy, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing international development programs, preferably in sectors such as poverty reduction, health, education, or humanitarian aid. Demonstrated experience in program design, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation. Strong understanding of development principles, cross-cultural communication, and stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to manage complex projects in challenging environments. Excellent leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities. Proficiency in project management software and data analysis tools. Experience working with major international donors (e.g., Global Affairs Canada, USAID, UN agencies) is highly desirable. Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages relevant to program regions is an asset. Commitment to humanitarian principles and social justice.
